Club Membership Programs

An integral part of FA Boyd, P.C.'s practice is assisting clients in establishing an amenity strategy for the ownership, operation and disposition of recreational amenities, whether part of a planned community or freestanding.

We work with clients to create and revamp membership structures for clubs operated on either a nonprofit or for-profit basis, including:

  • Golf and country clubs;

  • Marina and yacht clubs;

  • Swim and tennis clubs; and

  • Non-traditional clubs.

Documentation

Our involvement in drafting both community association and club documentation helps to ensure that the documents are consistent and that the rights of both the community association and the club are protected.  We are keenly aware of the interrelationships between major amenities such as golf clubs and the surrounding development and the role that each plays in supporting the other, and we work diligently to protect and enhance those relationships.

Transition and Disposition

Representing both developers and owners' groups in preparing for transition of control of equity clubs and negotiating the sale or other disposition of recreational amenities gives us unique insight into the myriad of issues which concern owners and existing club members in any amenity disposition plan.
